Gibraltar multilingualism discussed at Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht

On 8th March the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht will hold the Jornadas de Estudios Interdisciplinarios Tejiendo vínculos: Mujeres entre lenguas  y culturas. Elena Seoane will participate in the linguistic thematic area with the talk "Tejiendo vínculos entre lengua y sociedad: El desarrollo sociohistórico de las lenguas de Gibraltar."  She will discuss the sociohistorical factors that have shaped multilingualism in the recent history of Gibraltar and that have determined the current shift towards monolingualism in English in this British overseas territory.
