Marina Pérez Martín
I have a BA in English Studies from the University of the Balearic Islands and was honoured with the "Premi Extraordinari de Grau" (Best Degree Student Award).
During the academic year 2021/2022, as an undergraduate student, I worked as a research assistant under the supervision of Lucía Loureiro-Porto. My tasks primarily involved the transcription and codification of texts from the ICE corpus of Gibraltar. In that same year, I also spent a semester as an Erasmus student at University College Cork (Cork, Ireland).
Currently, I am pursuing an MA in English Studies at the University of the Balearic Islands. My MA thesis, in preparation, studies the passive voice in Gibraltar English from a variationist perspective, and is also supervised by Lucía Loureiro-Porto.
My areas of interest are the study of English morphology and grammar and World Englishes, with special reference to Gibraltar English.
